Our approved register of suppliers and service partners: assessed once against published criteria, kept current, and engaged through a governed process. No cold calls. No informal pitches. No undocumented contact. Just credible, evidence-based engagement with serious buyers.
BetterAlta verifies every supplier we put in front of a client, without exception. Registration, financial standing, quality systems, insurance, compliance and references are checked before any name reaches a client, whether that supplier is already held in our Register or newly identified for a requirement. The Register does not lower the bar, and membership is not a route to preference. It means the assessment is already complete, so a qualified supplier can enter a client's RFQ immediately rather than after a fresh review. We do not maintain a list and sell access to it. Verification is part of the engagement, not an added cost.
In procurement terms, a supplier is anyone a client buys from: goods or services. The Register holds manufacturers and product suppliers, wholesalers, independent inspection and QC partners, and freight, logistics and warehousing providers. Inclusion is not a guarantee of work: it means your organisation has passed our assessment and can enter relevant client RFQs through our governed engagement framework.
Applying is not a condition of working with BetterAlta. We assess every supplier we present to a client against the same published criteria, whether or not they hold Register status. What membership changes is timing and effort: the assessment is completed once, in advance, so when a client requirement matches your category, capacity and compliance profile, you receive a fully specified RFQ straight away rather than a cold enquiry.
You are not paying for leads. You are being verified for a governed supply register and approached only when your category, capacity and compliance profile matches a documented client requirement.
BetterAlta conducts the assessment itself, against criteria published in full and applied identically to every applicant. We are not a certification body, and Register status is not a certification. It is our own qualification record, and we stand behind it to our clients.
A common core applies to every applicant, with additional modules by category. You cannot judge a freight forwarder on production capability, or a factory on inspector independence. The same standard applies whether a supplier is a Register member or newly identified for a single requirement.
Company registration, trading history and legal structure, verified against Companies House or equivalent. Applies to every applicant.
Evidence of financial standing appropriate to the scale and type of engagements the applicant intends to support.
Appropriate insurance cover, sanctions screening, and demonstrated regulatory compliance for the category and market.
Verified references from previous clients or trading partners, demonstrating delivery capability and commercial reliability.
Production capability, quality systems, chain of custody and product test evidence, assessed at the depth the category demands.
Accreditation and inspector qualifications, plus a declared conflict-of-interest check: an inspector must be independent of any party they inspect. This is the check that most directly protects a client's money.
Operating licences and customs authorisations, freight liability cover, and trade association membership.
Origin traceability and the manufacturer behind the stock, so a client always knows where goods actually come from.
Every applicant receives a written outcome with documented reasons, and may appeal within 10 working days.
